Where was the bridge?
Africa was not simply a place of ancestry and history. It was alive with entrepreneurs, businesses, culture, ideas, resources, emerging markets and extraordinary human potential.
Millions of people throughout the African Diaspora felt a connection to Africa, but many lacked a clear pathway to transform that connection into meaningful participation.
There was a cultural connection.
There was an emotional connection.
But where was the economic connection?
What if members of the Diaspora could do more than visit? What if they could build businesses, invest, establish partnerships, create jobs, develop communities and participate in Africa's future?
And what if African businesses, entrepreneurs, governments and institutions had a stronger bridge to the financial, professional, intellectual and entrepreneurial resources of the global African Diaspora?
Build the bridge.
Not simply a symbolic bridge. A bridge people could actually cross.
2012: ADCC is born.
In 2012, the vision became the African Diaspora Chamber of Commerce.
ADCC was established to create practical pathways between Africa and the global African Diaspora through commerce, investment, entrepreneurship, strategic partnerships, development and cultural reconnection.

For generations, people of African descent have sought ways to understand and reconnect with Africa. ADCC believes the next chapter must include more than looking backward. It must also look forward.
- Toward businesses being created.

- Toward young people discovering new possibilities.
- Toward investments being made.
- Toward women building and owning enterprises.
- Toward communities being developed.
What began with one journey has grown into a much larger vision: Africa and its global Diaspora should know one another. Do business with one another. Invest with one another. Build with one another. And create a legacy together.
Reconnecting with Africa cannot end with a visit. We need a bridge that allows people to participate, build and own.
